The Gray Man recounts the based-on-a true story of Albert Fish (Patrick Bauchau), a horrid serial killer with deeply dark tendencies. In 1928, 10-year-old Grace Budd is kidnapped by her kindly grandfather figure of Hamilton Fish, aka Albert Fish. After six years of investigation, she remains undiscovered, prompting detectives to arrest Albert for her kidnapping. However, in their continuing investigation, they uncover many more past crimes than they expected. Fish had seemed to live a normal life, even raising several children; however, he led many secret relationships with women he would meet with, all of whom were eventually repulsed by his bizarre behavior and sexual tastes. The authorities, digging into his past, uncover a disturbing history of murder, mutilation, and cannibalism, leading to the courtroom scene where evidence of his insanity would seem foolproof yet death in the electric chair seems imminent.
